Church Services & Religious Programs
Worship
We worship God every Sunday morning from 10:30 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m., and Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. God, not man, is
the recipient of worship (John 4:23-24). God tells us exactly how to worship Him
(Acts 2:42). Worship involves preaching (2 Timothy 4:2), singing (Colossians
3:16-17; Ephesians 5:19), giving (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7),
partaking of the Lord's Supper (Matthew 26:26-29; Acts 20:27; 1 Corinthians
11:23-29) and prayers (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 4:2). Contrary to
popular opinion, worship is not a time to satisfy the whims and personal
preferences of man.
Bible Study
Bible study is offered every Sunday morning from
9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and every Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
The Bible declares, "Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth" (2
Timothy 2:15). The Christian is to study the Word of God with precise
determination. When we study the Bible in the manner mentioned above, we will
not only lay the foundation for correct interpretation, but receive the
knowledge, understanding and wisdom essential to a successful physical and
spiritual life which is pleasing to God.
Ladies Bible Class
The ladies Bible class is offered throughout the
months of September and May every Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00
a.m.. This is a time when the ladies of the congregation come together in sweet
fellowship to encourage one another through a study of God's Word. Also, the
ladies come together to discuss and coordinate several congregational
activities.
Children's Bible Class
Spiritual instruction for children ranging from
nursery to middle school is offered every Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15
a.m., and every Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The curriculum is
designed to effectively teach children in this age bracket the eternal truths of
God's Word.
Youth Bible Class
Those in high school can receive spiritual
instruction every Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., and every
Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The high school curriculum is
biblically adapted for the "teenage mentality" and deals with everyday issues
that commonly arise in a young persons life.
College Bible Class
Our college students or young adults can receive
spiritual instruction every Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., and
Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The college class is a higher
level thinking class as some of the more difficult subjects of the Bible are
considered.
Spanish Bible Class
The church of Christ on Norton Street is a
multicultural congregation. The two most popular languages of our community and
the world is English and Spanish. For those who prefer Spanish over English we
offer a Spanish Bible class every Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Potluck Luncheon
Every last Sunday of the month, immediately
following our morning services, we gather together to enjoy a meal that has been
prepared by the families of the congregation. This is a time for the
congregation to grow closer over a nice hearty meal.
